About Luna
Most astrology sites tell you what your sun sign means. Luna is here for the other one — the quieter sign that describes how you actually feel.
Why the moon sign
Your sun sign is shared by roughly a twelfth of everyone alive. It's a broad brush. The Moon moves far faster — through the entire zodiac in about 27 days, lingering only two and a half days in each sign — so two people born the same week can have completely different moon signs.
That's why moon sign descriptions tend to land harder. They're not describing the self you present at work. They're describing the one that shows up when you're tired, or hurt, or finally home. That felt like the more interesting thing to write about, so it's what this whole site is built around.
How the calculation actually works
This is the part I'd want to know as a reader, so here it is plainly: nothing on this site is random.
When you enter your birth date, the Moon Sign Finder computes the Moon's true ecliptic longitude for that moment using a standard astronomical algorithm, then reads off which of the twelve 30-degree zodiac segments it occupied. It's the same arithmetic an ephemeris uses. There's no guessing and no lookup table of approximations.
If your birth date falls close to the moment the Moon changed signs, the tool says so rather than quietly picking one. Birth time matters on those days and only those days — which is why the site tells you when it's relevant instead of demanding it every time.
Who writes the readings
I do. Every moon sign reading and every one of the 78 compatibility pairings was written in advance, by hand, and read before it went live. Nothing is generated on the fly while you wait.
That's a deliberate choice. It means the reading you get is one that a person actually looked at and decided was good enough to publish — rather than text no one has ever read, assembled in the half-second between your click and the page loading. It also means your reading appears instantly.
What it doesn't mean is that your reading is uniquely yours. Two people with a Taurus moon get the same Taurus writing. I'd rather be straightforward about that than imply a personalization that isn't there.

Who's behind it
Luna is a one-person project, published by SunWish Media from Massachusetts. There's no team, no office, and no venture funding — just someone who finds this material genuinely interesting and has been building websites for a long time.
If something on the site is wrong, broken, or reads strangely, I'd honestly like to know: sunwishmedia@gmail.com.
How the site pays for itself
Luna is free to use and always has been. It's funded in two ways, and you should know about both.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That commission is what keeps the calculators running and the writing going. I only link to things I'd be comfortable recommending regardless, but you should still weigh a recommendation knowing money is involved — that's true here and everywhere else on the internet.
I also sell my own digital products, like the Lunar Flow Transformation Kit. Those are made by me, and buying one supports the site directly.
What astrology is, and isn't, here
The astronomy on this site is real. The interpretation is a symbolic tradition thousands of years old, and it's offered here for reflection and self-understanding — not as fact, prediction, or diagnosis.
Reading about your moon sign can be a genuinely useful mirror. It can put language to something you've felt but never named. What it can't do is replace medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice from a qualified professional. If you're struggling with something heavy, please talk to a real person who's trained to help. The full terms are on the disclaimer page.
